What is ALS?
ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), often called Lou Gehrig's disease, is a progressive neurological disease that affects the nerves responsible for controlling voluntary muscle movement. Over time, the brain loses its ability to communicate with the muscles, making it increasingly difficult to walk, speak, eat, use the hands and arms, and eventually breathe. While there is currently no cure, treatments are available that may help slow the progression of the disease and manage symptoms.

RADICAVA® (Edaravone)
RADICAVA® is an FDA-approved medication for ALS. It is not a cure and does not reverse existing damage, but clinical studies suggest it maybeSH help slow the loss of physical function associated with ALS.
RADICAVA is available as an IV infusion, while RADICAVA ORS® is an oral formulation.
As I begin my ALS treatment journey, I’ll be documenting my experience with RADICAVA — from starting treatment and dealing with insurance to how it fits into my everyday life and what I personally notice.
I don’t know what effect it will have on my ALS, but if there’s a treatment that may help slow progression, I’m willing to give it a shot.
